Dog Sports 101

Find what you and your dog like to do together! This class will cover an intro to Rally/Obedience, Agility, Scent work, tricks, and more! By having a "taste" for the sports, you can then transition to a foundation class to get started on your journey!

For dogs who have dabbled here or there in a sport and are still unsure what they would like to do....a nice combo class to keep trying all of the sports and perfect for handling teams who want to maximize their hour in class! Each week we will offer two different sports to continue to build foundational skills. Focus on individual skill building.

For those who have interest in the sport and are just starting out - the first step in to learning handling skills, getting your dog on odor and understanding how dogs alert while working.

Novice - Excellent Scent Work
Fridays 6:15 – 7:15 pm
This class is designed to increase you and your dog’s understanding of odor and how to search. The dog and you will learn the basics of handling, the power of reinforcement, changes of behavior and transitions between hides, including some elevation of hides. We will introduce dealing with distractions, Birch, Anise and Clove, while working on letting our dogs lead the search. If your dog is trialing at the novice level, but not quite ready for advanced, we will touch on this transition
