Lisa first began in Obedience with Chynna, a Doberman she rescued. Chynna had some behavior problems that were solved with training. This sparked her interest in AKC Competition and expanded to include Obedience, Rally, Agility, Lure Coursing, Scent Work and Conformation.

Lisa competed in Rally Nationals and has been published in Doberman Pinscher Magazine 2014, Front and Finish June 2014, 2021 and 2022. She has been in Top 3 of classes in Rally and 1st in Breed. ​

Through competiting in AKC, Lisa was challenged to also compete in other kennel associations and expanded to CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) events in Obedience and Rally. She reached #7 Rally Dog of All Breeds in all of Canada and has been published in Canadian Canine Top Dog Review (July 2012 page 64).   She has also competed with ASCA (Australian Shepard Club of America) in Companion Dog and Rally, CPE (Canine Performance Events) in Agility, UKC (United Kennel Club) in Conformation.

Titles include BN (Beginner Novice), PCD (Preferred Novice), PCDX (Preferred Companion Dog Excellent), CD (Companion Dog), CDX (Companion Dog Excellent), RAE (Rally Advanced Excellent - Highest in Level Twice).

Beginning in 2012 Lisa began teaching classes with Dottie Hamblin gaining expeirence in Puppy Basic, Rally Novice through Rally Excellent, Novice through Open Obedience. In 2018 she became an AKC registered evaluator for Canine Good Citizen, STAR Puppy and Trick Dog.

In the summer of 2024 she created Star Canine Community Training Center.
