Darcey has been exposed to dogs her entire life - finally getting her own dog in middle school. Having grown up in a very rural area at the time - with no trainers and (gasp) no internet, she took to the books to teach her dog basic obedience and tricks. Her goal was to always have a sport dog to compete with.  Darcey currently has 2 black labs - a field lab, Porsche, who is 13 years old and worked as a therapy dog with Darcey until retirement about 2 years ago (Porsche had no desire for dog sports); and 1 year old English lab Lilith who has been training in Rally, Scent Work and Agility. Lilith is also working towards doing therapy work and has dabbled in some dock diving as she, unlike her sister, loves water!

 

As Darcey started to train at Star with Lilith, she grew a passion for becoming an instructor - she has been working with Lisa McCormick in her various classes for months. She continues this relationship as she branches out to co-teach with other instructors to continue learning and to expand her knowledge!
